I saw a pair this morning..you know, backless, holes along the fingers... Looked like little hand basques.

When was the last time you saw anyone wearing driving gloves?

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I haven't seen driving gloves for ages, but I have seen the related item - shagging socks - making a comeback.

Gapping Fanny

Great for pulling off slowly and slapping round peoples faces when offering them out for a duel

About a year ago. A lover drives a douchemobile and I'll be honest, I kind of like them. Not even ashamed of that.

Much.

That takes me back!

I think they're reminiscent of an era where lots of people wore gloves for varying occasions. I've got several pairs of evening gloves and some vintage summer weight ones.

I've never worn gloves for driving because i find they don't grip but I wish I could. My steering wheel is so cold in winter and flaming hot in summer

Do you like that tartan wool car blanket that goes over the knees too?

Yeah, to be fair I do tend to date men in that age bracket so it's a given that the tarten blanket will probably come out before their penis does.

I used to have a lovely pair, really soft leather, and I used to wear them a lot. Sadly I lost one and I've never got round to replacing them

I wear leather gloves in the winter & Mr cannot get his head around they’re just gloves, not driving gloves!!

My dad wore driving gloves for years! Then again, that was an era when men wore full suits for dinner abroad!!!

... I suppose it does explain why all cars have glove boxes? Though by the size of some of them maybe they are for boxing gloves.

I bought a pair of driving gloves a couple of years ago, not for driving in but I was on crutches for months, they made it a lot easier on my hands.

You could take up golf, so at least you'd get your money's worth from the remaining one.

"See people wearing them every year at Goodwood Revival "

They give a much better grip on the thin wooden steering wheels found on many classic cars.

"Every winter, I have Raynaud's so I actually do have driving gloves "

Snap. I had pair of leather string backed I was given when I passed my test, had them almost 40 years, till my ex boil washed them. They'd barely have fitted a toddler after that.

Wear them often, I don’t feel the cold like most people, can be 3 degrees outside and I will wander around in shorts and a t shirt happily, but every now and again, even in summer, my fingers get bitterly cold so have gloves in the car all the time

Went to holland not so long ago. Getting off the Ferry back in blighty I saw a man don a pair from a wooden box to drive his Aston Martin DB5. Ergo, they're cool if you have a DB5 or any other car with a wooden steering wheel where they are functional.

If you wear them other than this I'm afraid you need to get in the bin
