"Hi. Just a little heads up for all you parent's of youngsters having their first lads/girls holiday abroad. I know we would talk to them about dangers etc....but....I have heard a few alarming stories recently of younguns on Greek Islands getting into trouble. One lad being hospitalised after having his drink spiked on the first night of his holidays. Phone, cash stolen and the odd thing his designer logos cut off his clothes. One of my sons mates getting into a fight with a local, arrested then beaten by the police who demanded money to release him. Another one who was put into a double leg lock and came home with 2 broken legs. Terrible isn't it? Such a worry " Sadly, nothing new there. The same stories being told 20 years ago when I went on my first holidays

"It’s a well known fact that those living small and stunted lives rules by fear like to spread those fears in the hope that their children and even complete strangers will live small inconsequential lives ruled by fear too. In this way they can feel better about their awful existence by pretending that they’re doing a public service. " Thank you for your wonderful insight into mankind!

" Presumably my son's mugging at knifepoint and violent assault on a bus (two separate issues) are a figment of our collective imaginations, and my ongoing concerns for his safety are misplaced? The violent bus assault resulted in a successful prosecution of the offender (slap on wrist issued) but no thanks to GM Police. We did our own investigation and had to complain to get them to deal with it. I don't trust the Powers That Be to do the right thing anymore.

"And just Because kid's are with parents doesn't mean they will act any better, most parents are just as bad. It's one of the reasons we try our best to avoid places frequented by Brits abroad." been doing that since my second holiday overseas. The "Brits abroad resort" vomit, litter, d*unk, aggressive... Happened by chance upon the German resort... Clean, peaceful, respectful... You Reap what you sow

"Have you seen the way Brits act abroad? Like a bunch of wild animals. I think the locals are so pissed off with the way people act. As for getting spiked and mugged etc... Can happen anywhere in the UK. If my kid's where going abroad I'd be more happy teaching them to act in a respectable and responsible grown up way much less chance of trouble." embarrassing they give the rest of us a bad name

"It's gone in for years I remember when I was in Ibiza in 2000. Some guy got the absolute shit kicked out of him by the hotel security for d*unkenly knocking over a bin, he was also kicked out of his accommodation for it. 2 days later I got slapped by one for trying to bring a lady back for a evening drink he would only let me bring her in if she handed her passport or 20,000 pacatas to him. That being said some Brits abroad should be ashamed of themselves " Just shows the locals are no angels either. Especially the ones with a bit of authority. Though here they are treated with kids gloves by the police, so they get used to getting away with loutush behaviour.
