Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

My periods are usually regular as clockwork but for the last two months I've had a couple of days of pretty heavy bleeding mid-period. As I am 45 is this what I think it is? My daughter thinks I'm not old enough.

Anyone going through/gone through the change? How old are/were you?

This is going to seriously affect playing though. Grrrrr.

Same age as you Wyrd, could always set your watch by mine but they're starting to "float" a bit now which is a bit of a pain - have been having a few hot flushes over the last few months also but not sure if that's been the drugs I've been taking or not...my quack says 45 isn't too young and lots of older folk I've spoken to say mid 40's onwards...I would personally ask my Dr if I was having mid month bleeds just as a precaution

Mid cycle bleeding at your age should always been investigated.

See your GP and don't leave until you have a referral for imaging and a gynaecologist.

I'm going to book an appointment tomorrow but waiting for a female doc to come free can take some time. No point seeing a male doc - took daughter for lady problems and he actually said he had no idea about that stuff. I didn't know med school only taught it to female docs.

Do you have regular smear tests, I agree with the other poster, take a trip to your GP and get yourself checked out,

i am 51 and havnt had a period for about 2 years now.

some women finish in their fourties or 52, some say it depends how old you were when you started them.

Every three years since I was 21. And I went early October for BV and got some swabs done then and nothing came up but this is slightly worrying.

Get a blood test from the male doctor. You are probably peri-menopausal (my peri menopause started in my late 30s). The blood test will show whether you are within the four years before your full menopause starts.

Keep a diary and see if a pattern does emerge. There may be one, just one that you don't like (it was every 12 days for me with a break of 3 or 4 days).

Get checked that nothing else is going on and if you have any pain get a scan as well.

Mine started when I was 9 but I met a four year old who had started hers. Poor thing has really been going through it.

I don't worry about it anymore.

All I know is that my Mirena coil will stay in after it ceases to deliver hormone locally, and that I am already gynaecologically considered a fossil.

Just hope it is over and done with sooner without too many unpleasant symptoms, that's all.

I know, it was not a thing that was talked about in primary school... I thought I was dieing the day they started!! Had to go and see the school secretary

Had my smear earlier this year, and as not seen for 2 years ive official gone through the menopause. Go to gp, get it checked out snd ask for hormone profile ehich will indicate if you are menopausal

I was well-prepared by my mum.

Still cringe at the thought of STs and having to wear one of those belts to keep them in place in the early days!

Hubby replied to this earlier My turn now I have a hormonal problem which always messed mine up. I started periods at the age of 15. I had one a year. I was peri-menopausal (pre-menopausal) for about 8 years but started my change properly about 3 and half years ago (aged 43). I then started having periods every month (I was a real baby, as not used to them lol). I have noticed lately they don't last very long and am hoping that this means that they are phasing out again

Don't wait for pain. ANY mid-cycle bleeding needs checking out. An irregular cycle is an entirely different thing.

I agree with others def get checked out. I had mid cycle bleeding and it turned out I had a massive fibroid.
