Think they were called er, herbals,

they tasted lovely, even a bit mediciney.

And who remembers Gee's Linctus? best tasting cough mixture ever.

We used to look forward to getting a cough

Do you mean Greys Herbal sweets? We sell them in the pharmacy where I work. Also sell gees linctus

My nan used to give us Buttercup medicine, loved the taste of that.

Remember being given Fisherman Friend, that was disgusting stuff having a nasty cold was a far better option.

Last time I asked for it in the chemist I was told it had been discontinued...mind you I used to buy it by the crateful, loved the taste

You can still get gees linctus. We sell it at the chemist where I work. We are a family run pharmacy so not sure if bigger chains bother with it but we stock allot of the older remedies as that's what we get asked for allot.
