Truro

I've got a small van that I use for transporting my dog, and to prevent the scruffy fucker trashing my car.

I tried to get them on one policy but was told that van and car insurance are seperate.

If I modified the van by putting rear seats in, I could insure them on the same policy but thats too much hassle for me.

Coggeshall

Try admiral multicar maybe ?

I use them and they are the cheapest every year.

The fact one of yours is a van may be an issue. Worth a call to them I guess.

Cheers guys,

Pretty much same as you jack, car and vans are separate policies.... Tried admiral they dont accept vans on their muliticar , ..

i found a specialist insurer but they wont do a policy for only one car one van ..

Oh well ,, looks like i ll have two no claims discounts soon..

See if commercial 'block policies' still exist, tho I've no idea if it'll be cost effective for you but worth a look.

I had major rows with insurance companies when I wanted to insure two vehicles. Their stance was my no-claims could only be applied once!

My argument was that owning two vehicles does NOT make me a more of a risk and therefore it was totally out of order NOT to apply my no claims on a second policy!

I stood my ground and met with the same argument from 5 different insurance companies. When I got to number 6, they conceded and I got full no claims on both vehicles, hence the second vehicle only cost me a couples of hundred quid.

Two vehicles with only ONE owner driver presents minimal addition risk to the insurance company. Stand your ground and keep at it till you get what you want.
