So we decked some of it, paved some of it and put a patch of fake grass down. It's never frozen, melted or caused any problems. Yes it gets hot in direct sunlight. Just like the grass used to, the concrete slabs do and the decking does...... A | |||

If you have a lush, green lawn then of course that is preferable. But if you have less grass than bare soil, then that soil will bake, go rick hard....and become fucking hot to stand on. I don't agree with ripping up turf for no reason but artifical grass has its uses, especially in small gardens and urban areas. We live in the middle of butt fuck nowhere surrounded by fields and countryside. I don't think a 2x2m patch of AstroTurf is going to upset the local ecosystem that much. A | |||
