I prefer September and October, where the leaves haven't yet fallen and start to change colour.

Westonbirt is fabulous at that time of year. Not sure whether you're allowed to walk dogs there though.

One of the few pleasures at this time of year (fun meets excepted

) is one the way round the M25 to and from airports, I get to see all the colours of autumn along each side of the road. The stretch from Junc 5 to 8 is stunning if the sunlight is right...
