I'm not a foot fetishist but....

I'm on the train to work and I've seen a gentleman beach bum all kitted out in t-shirt shorts and flip flops.

I've had a glance at his feet (again not in a pervy way) and I can infer that they are objectively beautiful.

I went to uni with someone who 'hated feet' abhorred flip flops. These types confuse me because.. how can you hate a part of the human body.. like generically?

I love feet and hands.... and all the other parts too.

So.. I ask: what's going on here guys?

Maybe they don't hate feet, maybe they have a suppressed memory of when they were young and a foot told them they were a nerd for wearing that bum bag that time.

No idea OP. These fora have made me realise there's a huge range of random and strange things that people don't like for absolutely no valid reason whatsoever. There's barely a day without a thread on what words/phrases/sounds/body part/celebrity etc etc that you don't like.

I find a lot of them strange - particularly the words. How can you not like a word? But yes, I agree, body parts can be considered either attractive or not but to dismiss all of them on everybody as unlikeable is just wierd in my mind.

I'm exactly like you OP I appreciate hands&feet (and other body parts) but none to the point of full-blown fetishization. I feel sad that people hate feet because they do so much for us and they can be so sensitive

I think it's because most of the year feet are obscured from view so they end up being a "hidden" thing. And hidden things become unfamiliar, then add a bit of self-consciousness and bodily embarrassment and voila, there's the "I hate (my) feet". People forget we cover our feet for convenience&protection, not out of shame or because they are ugly.

Nice great wave puzzle action there btw!
