Believing in a soulmate for intimate relationship is quite limiting, cause it implies there is only one person in the world with who you can truly be fulfilled in a relationship with.

Do people really believe thats there's one perfect person out there for everyone or can we have several soulmates? Can someone who is your soulmate when your in your early 20s not be your soul mate in your 30s?

So long as they share the same set of values, have similar goals in life and enjoy how they express their love towards each other, any two people could be each other's "soulmate".

A person isn't really living in their own bubble. Life experiences and the moral values imparted upon us as children shape us into the people that we are.

Considering that, and the fact that different people are bound to look for different things in a potential partner at different points in their life, the concept of a "soulmate" is kind of weird, borderline fantasy/willfully optimistic..

Polyamourus relationships take this in a different direction too...

There are different people for different sides of your relationship needs,so I'm guessing multiple soulmates in this case, though I've never been in one

I truly believe this.. I've met mine.. I've loved him for over 23years.. I actually tried to ignore that I felt like this

. But I've now accepted that he is it. The one man that completes me.

I love the thought of it but haven't met one. A guy once told me I was his but he also found it fairly easy to dump Mr, so I assume it was just words.

If you'd have asked me that question 18 months ago I'd have said yes, definitely! Roll forward 18 months and no! Fuck it all !!

I think you can have as many as you find. If you find even one then you’ve been extremely blessed.

Do I believe in it? Yes. Have I experienced it? Yes.

Trouble is, that kind of magic can leave a mark on you. You judge other relationships to that standard and expect things to be that good, and get disenchanted when it’s not.

I believe in soul mates. I found mine but she was ripped away recently. I don't know if I will ever find her like again.

They definitely leave a mark but that's the point. Soulmates are there to test you, to find your weaknesses and strengthen them.

It's how you deal with the end of those relationships too. All things come to an end - life comes to an end. We are just going through all sorts of stages and phases, each for the purpose of learning and evolving to a better self. So as all bad things/times end, good do too. It's being able to cherish those magical times and not look back with bitterness and cynicism that's key - particularly towards those soulmates because they are on their own journeys of self discovery and learning too - and may just not evolve at the same pace alongside you. It's about being able to let go with love and compassion.

Of course you can. a soulmate is someone that made me feel complete, it’s that simple.

Can you have more than one? I never thought you could when I was younger, but as I got older and by growing a beard I immediately became wiser I think you can. Will they be the same as the person you shared everything with the first time round or even 2 maybe three soulmates? No of course not. But they will be giving you the same fundamentals you need.

Trust/loyalty/love/honesty etc… everything your soul needs to feel safe.

Sounds perfect doesn’t it?
