Lots of talk that Lurpak is over £7 a tub in the shops and some shops are putting security tags on the tubs too.

What's going on here ?

Why do you always explain what's going on and then ask what's going on? I think you might need a new generic question for your posts.

"Why do you always explain what's going on and then ask what's going on? I think you might need a new generic question for your posts. "

Does he though? . See, he leaves open the question of is it only Lurpak that has security tags? Is it theft and if so, why aren't people opting for other butter that cost less? You get the gist.

Have you tried in ALDI? I believe would be more affordable and if you not fussy about the package , you can opt for Aldi brand option

I think they use a seed oil in the spreadable version (in a tub) and it is that ingredrient that is pushing the cost upwards due to the Ukraine conflict.

Real butter is a cheaper and far better alternative.

Lurpak definitely is a luxury in these times that we can afford. Probably going to just have buy anal lube instead now.

You can make butter by putting a marble in the plastic container of full fat milk. Put the lid back on! If you shake it (for ages) it makes butter.

In ASDA it's often cheaper to get the bigger one than the 2 small ones..

Sometimes when it gets close to their sell by date they rotate them & drop the price to sell them obvs!!!!

It does not matter what I think. LOL. it's cheaper. Consumers don't get much breaks at the moment. I understand what you are saying. Chicken or egg.

I personally think it's a packaging thing for Liddle. Liddle must not have a prob from Lurpak..... Our local one is always packed out. So, it must be a popular alternate place.

Lurpac is 64% real butter and then they add 26% Apeseed Oil. Lidl and Aldo versions are the same. But they are around half or better the price! It is a no brainer really!
