Somebody that I know is upset because one of their friends with benefits has moved on to someone else, I've told this person that unfortunately these things happen that's why you can have emotional attraction to them because things like this can happen

Unfortunately, emotions are beyond our control. It is very common for NSA relationships to be much more emotional for one half than the other.

Did you mean Can or Can’t have?

Anyway, people can’t help how they feel, but if a fwb moved into someone else, they were a FB and nothing more.

I don't understand why people are not expected to form bonds? And why we don't learn to be more accepting that loss is a normal part of life and happens throughout our live? We can't help our feelings. We can use agreed strategies, boundaries and compartmentalise to try and reduce risks of hurt and complication but still we are human. All we can do is manage ourselves and our interactions with others.

I'm sure they are glad you were there to sort that out for them

Take out the "with benefits" and it would still hurt that the intimacy of the friendship is no longer the same.
