Hi all

New to this all, so be kind but honest

So I have been striking up some conversation with a lady for the past few days, it got to the point of sharing face pictures (sounds very romantic)! What we wanted was aired out and we were both on the same level, until... Last night she just blocked me out of nowhere. No explanation whatsoever but just blocked me, I can honestly say I wasn't rude, crude, nothing sexual just starting to build some social connection before (if) anything happened. I feel a bit gutted if I'm honest

Does this happen a lot to women and men?

A lot more than people would like.

Its best to try and not dwell on it, otherwise you will go round in circles.

Don't overthink it.

I struck up a nice conversation with a couple located very close to me. Next thing I know, they've deleted their account.

People will always have reasons for not taking things further and not everyone is able to articulate it and so go for the easy option - block/ghost/unlos

On to the next.

Asking for a mate? OK.

Ask your mate if it was a well verified, obviously real person, or if it was a recent, new, unverified and vague profile with a few shiny pics and not many words.

And then ask him how soon after swapping face pics was he blocked.

And then ask him if he did a quick reverse search on the face pic because its not unheard of for people to 'borrow' them.lff t'internet.

And then ask him why he could post in the forums himself. Because it's a bit lazy asking 'a mate' to do it for him and if he's old enough to have a profile he should be old enough to ask his own questions of others.

Sounds annoying but it's not worth worrying about. Sometimes a block helps to avoid an uncomfortable conversation if they're not into it.

Chatting with someone then randomly get blocked for no reason.. that you are aware of. There will be a reason just the blocker chose not to share it with you. For most blokes it’s a buyers market and there isn’t much that can be done about it. Don’t dwell on what might have been.

People rarely block for "no reason". Just because you don't know what the reason is, doesn't mean that there isn't one.

I got blocked.

Just a minute ago.

All I said was “my naughty pussy cat has knocked a glass off the table”.

Maybe they've got a cat allergy, or thought you were about to make a bad joke about wet pussy? It could have been something you said earlier or something they don't like in your profile/photos... it doesn't matter though, if they don't want to meet you, you'll not change their mind.

Aye it happens lad.

Don't tar all the good ladies on here with the same brush though. It's nice when you get an explanation but the joys of the tinterweb mean people can literally disappear.

Neeeeeeeext!!!!!!

I just assume it's part of the narrowing down process. If they plan on meeting one person at the weekend and have like 60 messages then that's 59 that will be whittled down from no reply to no thanks. So on and so forth until a few reach the messaging stage etc

Not everyone is for everyone. No point stressing about it.
