I met someone for a social, saw him waiting and thought “he is gorgeous, way out of my league. He’ll stay for coffee and make his excuse”

We talked three hours, met that night and the following night. We are human and attraction isn’t just looks

Daunting isn't a word I'd consider on here especially not from a few words or pics on a screen.

Perfection doesn't exist.

Striving for perfection is a waste of time and effort and is a very lonely journey.

In saying that though I've been told a few times that I'm nobody and apparently nobody is perfect so that's probably why I'm not getting lots of messages from all the daunted women

I think I can relate to Things and people being daunting in here. There’s big personalities and loud voices who I was awkward to approach for a conversation.

There’s then those that are stupidly gorgeous who appear out of my league too. (I understand when people have said this)

So I hear what the op is saying.

No OP, I can't say I do. Sure there are people who are more stereotypically aesthically pleasing but I don't see them as being perfect. They still shit. Cry, swear, have issues, you get the idea. They're human. Not better or less than.

But I've found maybe once or twice I've been a bit intimidated by someone's intelligence. Actually once. She's now a good friend of mine and I embrace her mind, it's far more brilliant than mine and that's okay.

It's not really okay though is it? But that's okay. Because it's okay to not be okay with the fact that you say you're okay with it when actually you're not really okay.

Okay?

That’s it right there. A perfect persona is rather bland and often turns out to be a thin veil.

Take a look in the mirror and tell yourself you are gorgeous, when you realise that your (perceived) imperfections are the beauty that others find deeply attractive then there is nothing that’s too out of reach.

As Keyser said up in this thread, nothing is too daunting when you realise you there’s someone for you here.. no matter how beautiful they look.

People may be a great match or have the ideal attributes that you'd like at that moment. But nobody is perfect, however much time, money, effort or genetic fortune that they have invested.

Most people are not mutually matched, so not meeting respective ideals is standard. Some realism helps to ensure expectations aren't unmet, due to having a head outside of the real world of life

Where does this assumption come from that physically beautiful people have horrible personalities come from?

Some of the most physically stunning people I’ve met have been beautiful souls.

Equally, I’m met some very physically unappealing people who have been absolute scum bags.

I understand what you're saying as I've seen a lot of profiles I'd never message due to them (I my opinion being too good for me) but having to spoken to a few people on here now most (not all) care about anything other than the connection and the time spent together.

I've now decided that even if I believe them to be "too good for me" I will still endeavour to send a wink or even a message, what's the worst to happen ?? Just get ignored and blocked ??? Not gonna meet half the people on here anyway

"Too perfect" and "daunting" aren't the words I'd use to describe it.

It's easy to only see the idealised fantasy of someone through thier profile, a snapshot of the person they are and what they're willing to show us, but the reality is they're just human like all of us.

People are just people, like your friends/family/colleagues or randoms in the the street.

But (and this is probably what your point is) I do regularly come across profiles that after a quick read and flick through thier pics I know I haven't got a chance in hell with them.

Don't worry about it, just keep trying your best, your best is all that you can ever do
