The receiving of the word.

His intent was not bad, not to cause offence but use the word positively in this sense.

Rosie isn’t offended by the word fat. She prefers chubby or wobbly as it’s cuter, but ultimately she has a mum tum, big boobs, a huge bum, and owns it. Personally I love every inch of her and we don’t need people to be offended on her behalf.

Actually it's an incorrect word to describe someone. Nobody is fat that isn't a body type fat is something you have not something you are. If people don't want to be described as fat that's that's their decision you don't get to decide whether they should be offended by it.

There are other terms used that some dislike.

Slut, BBC, BBW for example.

There are other words what people like to take and make less negative also.

It's OK to be skinny, slim, average, fat or obese. If that's what you are. Want to change it?...eat more carbs or put down the pie! The choice is yours but just leave language alone. Fine, if you want new words use them but stop forcing people to drop words that are descriptive and were not designed to put you down.

FAT is a layer under the skin, if that's why you are big shouldn't we correctly describe you as someone with excess fat? "Fat" for short.

The fat people I have least problems with are those who openly say, "i am fat". Every day millions openly say "I am getting fat", then when they get there they shout at you for saying they're fat!!

I am white but if i get the hump because you call me white, do we all have to resort to non black, non brown, paper coloured, dulux pantone 356? Seriously words are just words. Actions speak far louder than any of them. Be accepting of what and who others are, be accepted for what and who you are, then, then we'd all get along just fine.

And with seriousness, self labelling is important here. I call myself fat. I don’t like BBW, because I don’t think of myself as big - I’m only 5 ft 3, need help to reach the second highest shelf in a supermarket, my feet don’t touch the floor on most chairs.

BUT. I’m fat.

If you don’t think of yourself as fat, if you want a different label, that’s awesome. There are loads of BBW and curvy threads around too. But I have a right to pick the label I want, and OP has the right to use the label he is attracted by and see if there are women who identify with it without being told he’s wrong.

And for me, when a man says he likes fat lasses, I make certain very specific assumptions: that he is comfortable with a protruding tummy or an apron and a small waist to hip ratio, also thicker arms and legs.

That said, we're both fat and that's that, but it's the add-ons that are more offensive, you always get 'fat bastard' never 'curvy bastard'.

No hypocrisy from me and I maintain that OP has done nothing wrong in using ‘fat’ as a positive description. You not liking it is entirely your affair. But if you’re going to react to every comment where someone agrees with something that goes against what you think you’re going to have a long day. Is it not better to accept that liking someone else’s choice of word or not is a personal choice?
