Pitching the idea of camping

Is anyone going an a camping trip this year? Do you even like camping, or you avoid it like the plague of mosquitoes that wait for you to arrive?

I like camping but haven’t been for ages, it’s about time I went again to be at one with nature, ….inside a tent, and on an inflatable mattress. Because after all, life is to short to sleep in the floor

Do you have all the gear but no idea? How good are you at pitching a tent? Do you do the pegging? (Don’t be rude) I’m that nerd who times himself so I can boast my manliness.

I’ve not camped anywhere other than a festival since 2020, but do enjoy it when I have.

I’m pretty good at making “roughing it” very comfortable indeed

I Wildcamp on mountains so have specialist gear for that; exped downmat, single hoop bivi, 4-seasons down bag, jetboil, head torch , juice bank that’s about it. Thinking about getting a VW camper for photography trips but currently just Airbnb or sleep in the car if I can’t get one close enough.

Thing with traditional camping you need so much gear and it’s so much effort and good campsites are quite expensive

We go camping a fair bit throughout the year (we are currently camping now in fact, but go home today). Sometimes alone, with freinds, as part of our other hobby or with our family. We are tent campers. We have tents and gear for both quick getaways and larger set ups for more luxurious longer breaks (plus large roof box for traveling heavy). Mr has been doing it all his life and has loads of experience. We are also naturists so where we can we like to pick a campsite site where we naked and ourselves.

You are my idol right now!!!

I need a jetboil. and your right. My car is sacked with the tent and all the other crap that’s just luxury.

The problem I have is a sleep aweful as it is, so sleeping as you do? I might as well just keep watch all night.

I do like the idea of spelling under the stars though.

We camp quite a bit - lockdown savings financed a big family tent and all the paraphernalia. We were away a few weeks back and worked out that even including campsite fees, we've been away enough for the kit to pay for itself when compared to air bnb and that's just for the two of us. We want to invest in a better bed but that aside have everything we need.

I used to wild camp when I was younger and would like to introduce her ladyship to that - may need to invest in a slightly larger tent as she calls my little backpacking tent a pencil case

couple, us we him her.

Love camping we are going this weekend.

Got two tent's both inflatable air beam one's

Tent is up and done in about ten minutes.

We have extra large self inflating foam mattresses that are as comfortable as our bed at home.

We have recently purchased a new tent a large technical cotton one and it's amazing.

We take throw's and rug's make it lovely and cozy.

I have also got a large power station when electric hook-up not available.

We get set up,put the chairs up and sit in the fresh air doing absolutely fuck all.

The occasional walk it's just the best but we are very outdoorsy types anyway, kayaking, swimming, walking etc...

Not into caravans or campers but each to their own.

I'm always camping, even in the cold and winter months as I also have a "hot tent".

My favourite is wild camping.

I've done it since very young.

Camping is not all

About the beach at sea for me but then I live right next to the sea I guess

Yeah I take the kids, they love it. I love being able to see all the stars in the non light polluted sky. Haven't got loads of gear, but we only go for 2 or 3 nights at a time and usually only do breakfast at the tent with maybe one bbq dinner.
