couple, us we him her.

Hypothetical situation.

You have a few million (disclaimer I don't)

And you want to invest for your and your children's future.

So you want to either start a company or buy into one that will hopefully produce a steady stream of income and hopefully grow.

What would you invest in?

"I would open a state of the art recoding studio, would love to get back to producing and engineering music"

It's amazing how many legendary studios have closed. With the increased capabilities of laptops and software, the market for third party studios seems to be reducing.

That said, residential places like Rockfield seem to go OK...maybe chat to some of the property tycoons on the thread!

It'll be more like a charity than business... It's to supply people on benefit with white goods (fridge, washing machines, etc).

Working with likes of Currys (and community unwanted) old machines are collected and a workshop with apprentice trained on how to repair white goods.

These are then shipped and fitted to people on benefits or Social Services referrals.

I thought of that idea when Grenfell happened... Apparently an old unmaintained appliance started the fire.

If I had a few million, and thankfully not having any children, I wouldn't need to start a business. Even before I became an unpaid carer, work was only ever a means for money and I'd have happily done other things if I could afford it.

Property / property maintenance.

We will always need more.

If you can play the long game it is a great income from rental

If you play the quick turnaround game right lots can be made

Add to that if you’re in the maintenance side of it builders/plumbers/electricians etc then you can do the work yourself rather than having to spend out to others

Long term rentals

The other options are nursing homes or childcare … because they are always going to be needed too… especially in a world where both parents need to earn these days to afford to live

If it was to make money, I dunno, bit of capitalistic abuse of others, hoarding wealth, avoiding tax. Ya know, financial services.

I'm not sure of the details, but probably food. As the climate changes, prices rise, and systems collapse, finding a resilient business model for feeding people (essentials, not a restaurant) could well be a serious money spinner.

Nothing makes people more desperate than a lack of food.

I’d consider some sort of online fraud services as well. The problem is getting worse and they are getting more ingenious with their scams.

Sooner or later Governments (as it’s a global issue) will start using civilian IT companies for detection and protection services.

The same type of work I work in now. Waste, you charge customers hundreds to thousands to collect, you bring it back to process and sort. Then resale.

Every week resale is 30-40k a week plus the amount you charged customers around another 40k between them.

That does not include the materials you make around another 10k a month.

You charge and get paid for everything. Free money and hence why there is so many companies doing it.
