We have booked to see this next weekend, honestly so excited for this film because it's a Marvel and it was directed by Taika Waititi, who is actually going to marry me, but he just doesn't know it yet

They took off here since the pandemic which is great they usually show 2 movies. Way cheaper than going to a Cinema.

We saw it at the weekend and were pretty underwhelmed for the most part, a lot of the story beats seemed shoe horned in or rushed, and it didn't seem to contribute much to the MCU.

They've gone for the Guardians of The Galaxy format but aren't building momentum or a story. The last two Thor films were categorised by him swinging whilst chained up as a story was being told only for him to ruin suspense with a badly timed joke. That's the direction they have gone. They have lost the impact that GoTG had with major story building and heartfelt scenes and pierced it with juvenile humour for the ADHD generation that even the generation hates as it is reviewing badly.

Very much this. Grown completely indifferent to it. Call superhero flick burnout. All of Marvel's latest offerings don't hold a candle to their earlier, Pre Endgame productions.

I have been catching up with Marvel, I really enjoyed Shang Chi and the second Dr Strange. Black Widow was OK but too long and shoehorned in the girl power and all the supporting characters were more interesting than the Black Widow.

I also watched Captain Marvel at the weekend !(OK it is pre Endgame) but it was rubbished when it came out, I enjoyed it as a standalone film and the girl power was subtly done.

I remember when the first Marvel films came out, they were good (well the second Hulk was iffy as was the second Iron Man) I don't think many would have expected MCU to be as brilliant as it turned out to be. I do think hindsight is at play.
