When you see this on a profile, what does that mean to you?

If you’re responding to that type of request, does that translate as confidence or something else?

Personally I’ve never seen myself as exceptional, I’m just me. I’m confident and aware of my abilities but I’ve never seen myself as exceptional so I’m curious as to what people think that request is asking for…

Thoughts folks

An example of an exceptional male is Nikola Tesla. He was simply amazing with the shite he could invent. And others are people who strive to give something to the world. I admire those type of people.

I don’t Nikola in here.

I see someone on fab using exceptional or ‘top tier’ as trying to belittle others. To me it’s a little off putting.

.

I think that the person is trying to get across an ideal they're looking for, it's not hard to work out what kind if you read their profile.

I don't see it as confidence, nor arrogance. I guess I'm a lot more laidback about/less bothered by lexicon on a profile. More a certainty in what they want and they're not quite skilled to not offend some.

Are we talking people or cake? Exceptional cake I will talk about all day, people? Well there’s a definite 1 percent on here both male and female, sadly I am not anywhere close to being in that world

I see it as a sign of elitism and would move on as we wouldn’t get on. But then I’m fat and ugly, so I would say that….

Did Tesla have a huge cock because I think that’s what some mean by exceptional…

I don’t believe in tiers or leagues. People are people

Oh is that what it means? Exceptional = big cock? Haha. And people wonder why men worry about cock size

If I see exceptional it means that Belle would have to go on her own, and that's not allowed!

When I see exceptional, I assume they have a very definite idea of the sort of person they want to meet, and that they have high standards, although their idea of exceptional will be very different from someone else’s, but I guess it does put me off as I think I would struggle to be anyone’s idea of exceptional

I read it as someone setting out what they want but giving themselves a loophole in case they see someone they like outside those parameters.

Isn't the concept of exceptional in the eye of the beholder, much as beauty or perfection are?

Anyone describing themselves as exceptional makes me question whether they have any humility or empathy, so I tend to avoid when I see such statements.

I've seen someone describe themselves as "elite" just made me giggle that they thought so much of themselves. It's a little off putting.

As in they’re exceptional or they are looking for exceptional people?

I’d give a wide berth to either tbh.

Simple. They are not interested in most people. The ones they are interested in are the exception, thus they are interested in exceptional people.

It's a bit like saying that they are oy interested in the people they are interested in, which is a tautology.

We have exceptional on our profile for single males and this is why. We aren't looking for single men, so one would have to catch our eye and be an exception to our rule.

Yes.

I’m looking for what would define exceptional though.

A person with one eye is by definition exceptional. I’m fairly certain that’s not what they mean though

So what is your definition of exceptional?

Or is it a vague ‘we’ll know when we see it’?

If they say they're exceptional I would skip past them as it smacks of arrogance.

If someone looks for exceptional I'd move on past too as I'm ordinary .

Whilst I am tempted to say yes to your vague comment in that being it, there are some basics which I feel are necessary.

Being able to deal with my awkwardness (ie take it on the chin) is a bit of a must, I'm Autistic and as such put my foot in it frequently - so a sense of humour, preferably dark and a thick skin. Patience, because I overexplain and stutter. And a backbone, people need to be upfront with us because dropping hints really doesn't work.

Also someone that will get on with both of us, we refuse to allow any man to believe he can push C to one side; I feel like that should be a standard but it certainly seems to be an exception.

SteveandHisMagicPickle was exceptional and we only ever spoke to him on the forums, hope he's ok.
