Just don’t go “Urgh” when you see them and run a mile and you will be fine

If you have a good feeling about them, you’ll be fine. And enjoy it. It’s a date, no commitment to do anything more than enjoy each other’s company.

No never but quite a few people have met us without asking for face pictures. Nobody has run away yet but they'd have to get past the locked doors...

In this day of filters I've been on plenty of dates where it may as well have been a blind date

Meet somewhere public, pay attention to red flags and trust your instincts.

Perhaps you and the other guy that turns up can have a nice chat about the footie?

No always see a face pic first. Safety paramount but also if the face isn’t attractive to me - or mine to them - then there’s really no point wasting each other’s time is there?

I've met without exchanging face pics and been pleasantly surprised usually. The worst that can happen is you have a nice chat and leave.

Fb has arranged people to meet us that I hadn't, and I think he hadn't seen either. It worked out alright tbf. People hardly ever look like their photos anyway I find.

I have but only when friends selected me and the date as very likely to be compatible. And we met whilst others were in the vicinity, so I could have moved on to my friends, if it was an horrific, uncomfortable pairing.

Many have tried it on fab, over the years but I insist on pic exchanges. And with video chat being simple enough, it would be better to have a mutual, split second of sharing of each other, than 1 or both, struggling to get away when you come to physically meet up.

Plan an alternative activity to enjoy, should it not work out.

Or both weak masks, even when meeting. You could share the details of your masks in advance, so there's no surprise in store. Don't pick a bank etc, for such an encounter

With the amount of fakes and dreamers out there I'm not sure I would be willing to take a chance with our extremely limited personal time and resources travelling anywhere to meet anyone that wasn't willing to swap face photos. I mean is the intention to all wear bags on your heads for the duration?

If you really have nothing better to do and don't mind turning up for a no show or worse still a car crash/horror show then nothing ventured nothing gained I suppose.

My first serious boyfriend was a blind date, we were set up by our mutual friends who were dating each other.

We were together for 9 years.
