You mean as in a stalkerish kind of way? Hunted them down, insinuated yourself into some situation where you ‘casually’ happen to meet them and try to not make it seems really weird and creepy? No, oddly, Ive never done that!

No not like that! In a genuine, non-creepy way!

I didn't plan to meet them; the occasion presented itself for us to meet. They behave like any other stranger I have met given the same circumstances, like being seated next to each other on a flight.

However, one actor was particularly warm and friendly. It stuck in my mind.

How do you ‘make it happen’ in a non creepy way? Just the fact of specifically trying to meet a famous person is inherently creepy!

Why is it ? It’s only creepy if you are a creep

Hell yeah. A lot of the Tottenham players lived in my village when I was younger. Me and my mate when I was 17 used to follow them in my little mini! Creepy as fuck!

Back in my art college days, I was friends with quite a few names you would recognise. Being famous is just a job and the sensible ones treat it like that. M

I’ve had sex with two ‘famous’ people actually.

But I was neither a fan or stalker. Both situations it just happened.

One I met at a club, another on a hook up app.

Worthing

A famous English female tennis player in a theatre bar after a show she was in. She was lovely.

I engineered myself as a volunteer at a launch night for some art thing where my favourite author was guest speaker. I poured him a drink. He had massive hands. He's dead now. That last bit isn't related to anything I did.

"Yes lots of famous DJ's "

Oh, reminds me I have a great photo of me with a DJ/Producer I loved from the early 90s that I got about 10 years ago, I hung about at the back of the (circular, so no escape) DJ booth at a festival and got a pic (classic me holding his record bag while be points at me pose). Stuck in on Facebook and tagged him, and when a mate said "Where did you dig him up from?!" he replied "Salford..."

"Wanted to meet someone famous and then made it happen ? Don’t say who but tell me what happened! "

Yes.

I admired a comedienne (sadly now deceased) hugely. I wrote her a fairly well crafted fan letter (she thought so anyway ) and pointed out that I was going to see her perform. I was gobsmacked when she wrote back (or more likely one of her assistants) and invited me to a quick chat backstage after the performance. She was every bit as wonderful as I hoped she’d be.

Yes. Actually they weren't famous then, kind of, hard to explain without making it obvious, they are now.

Went to Fringe with a very good friend who was in the same thing as them at uni. Asked to be introduced to them. Clearly I did something right as they're still a friend now and I speak to them intermittently/send them links to weird things.

I don't generally give a toss about 'famous' people but once I met a Battle of Britain air ace, quite by chance, in a museum, who instantly recalled my Dad from the same squadron and an incident they shared.
