Seen a few song based threads and as I love to sing and write I'd love to know...

What's the best opening line to a song ever!?

I love "You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips!"

Also for side fun....send a wink to someone who's lyric you like AND fancy!!

Let the LYRICS AND LUST begin!

Its a tie between Loser by Beck...

"In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey

Butane in my veins and I'm out to cut the junkie"

...and Search & Destroy by The Stooges...

"I'm a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm

I'm a runaway son of the nuclear A-bomb"

Greenday , good riddance

"Another turning point a fork stuck in the road"

Even more effective if you know what billy Joe means by it .

It's basically a fuck you to his dad, when he was young his dad wasn't a very good role model , always letting them down , then at some point his his dad just left them and that's , the other turning point his dad took the opposite fork in the road .

It's all in the live bullet in the bible concert they made a behind the scenes spin off to

Favourite lyrics is probably Stereophonics- A thousand trees, it only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees

by the big field

(Sample of Arnold J Rimmer- Red Dwarf)

When you're younger, you can eat what you like, drink what you like, and still climb in to your 36-inch-waist trousers and zip them closed.

Then you reach that age- 24, 25- your muscles give up, they wave a little white flag, and without any warning at all, you're suddenly a fat bastard.

Carter USM- Surfin USM (Now this is how you open an album)

How many special people change?

How many lives are living strange?

I love a good philosophical opener.

It does quickly degrade to drugs and alcohol mind you haha.
