I have a friend who wants to send me a parcel but I don’t want to give out my home address. Can anyone suggest an alternative like post office box or Amazon lock box. ? Has anyone hired one for use and how do the work.

We need to know what's in the parcel really to properly advise.

If they are sending it direct from Amazon they can send it to a Amazon locker near you. If they are sending it themselves they can send it to the post office for you to collect. If they send it in discrete packaging the post office staff aren’t going to know what’s in it.

Get a town cryer to deliver it to your house and exclaim…..

“Your pocket fanny has arrived sir” at the top of his voice.

Look into hiring a PO box.

But depending on what they are sending you, it might not be worth it.

Lifes departure lounge NN9 Northamptonshire East not West MidlandsMidlands

Quite a few of the parcel companies now doing click and collect from a variety of stores local to you, I think they will still require the addres of the recipient though.

Almost certainly will require a proof of identity.

Don’t know if it’s still a thing but I used to use Poste restante when I didn’t know what city or country I’d be in each week. They send it to [your name], Poste restante [your city] and you collect with a passport

If you don’t trust them with your home address maybe don’t trust them sending you parcels.

Modern bombs don’t tick n all that (they say)

Big knickers if they need a parcel rather than an envelope!

If I was married I’d sent myself diamonds and stuff. Husband would have to take note.

Maybe a cold war style drop where the parcel's taped to some street furniture to be picked up later and you both wear trench coats, dark glasses and a dodgy looking hat

Shit dude, just send it with out.

If pressed at the post office, fake name and somebody else's post code.

It's only in case it doesn't get there so they can get it back to you.

But hey, if your not bothered, as above.

Why would the people at work see it unless you open it in front of them?

Surely whatever this is will be "packaged discreetly", not in a perspex box? In which case, work should be fine....pre covid our post room was a mass of boxes, 80% from amazon, but all sorts of shapes and sizes of box was in there. Nobody gave a shit what anybody else's box had in it.
