Hi, I’m thinking of getting my nipples pierced, question is we are going abroad in 6 weeks is there enough time for them to heal or am I better waiting until I return?

Also for those that have them would you say it’s worth the pain and faff?

I would wait until after your holiday. My wife got both of hers done and one took over 3 months to heal and the other didn’t heal at all so she had to take it out.

"Ouch! I’m worried about the not ever healing!"

If you’re planning on swimming or anything like that I would wait until after the holiday because if it doesn’t heal it could get infected.

Most heal fine after a few months but there’s always a chance it won’t. You just have to take the risk.

When I had mine done they took months to heal so I’d wait if I where you it does hurt but it’s momentary and it’s worth it

Definately don't do it before your holiday.

Some can take up to a year to heal and feel fine again.

Anything can set back the healing process too so be aware of that before you do it.

Catching them something simple like a towel, underware and even one if those bath sponges will make your eyes water with a lot of ouch!

Mine never made the sensation any different for me either, nothing changed.

Be prepared!

I hadn’t thought about swimming. I swim a lot 3-4 times a week, can I not swim until healed?!

The aesthetic of a piercing is really the only thing you should be considering when deciding whether to have one or not. How they are going to feel is completely unpredictable, it could increase your sensitivity, it could make no change or it could kill sensation.
