Since I've been off the forums I've done the usual "5 lb loss/ 5 lb gain" thing so I'm not further in massively shedding the weight. I have however reduced the level of stress by quitting my job and taking on a new one that's more chilled and I'm less "emotionally invested"

School holidays start in a few weeks so I'll have plenty of time to invest in myself and kick start my life, somewhat.

I've put about 10lb on!

Stopped working with that bloke as he stopped messaging me (and I wasn't messaging him but I was paying him a lot of money lol).

Still going to follow his plan though. Just need to stick to it like I did before!

Yep, getting our heads back in the game. Thanks for starting new posts and keeping them alive. Fab apathy hits me hard and I delete. That's one of the things I'm working on the "all or nothing" syndrome where I walk away from something if its not going my way. Also knowing when to walk away from situations that are not going to get any better.

I’ve lost a stone and a half in the last two months. After I had Covid I had some bladder problems and a subsequent trip to the Dr picked up a few health issues. I have stopped having pop altogether (which I drank regularly) and the sachet cappuccino drinks that they have in work.

I’m eating freshly cooked meals rather than the frozen ready meals I had and have switched to brown bread.

It’s frustrating because I have so much more to lose you can’t really notice it but perseverance I guess.

Congratulations on you're weight loss so far. Cutting out pop us a great move and making the other switches. You notice the difference on the scales so it is noticeable. Keep going, you're doing great x

The main thing is you are actively seeking support. The "head" is a complete mind fuck and responsible for all our issues around food. Logical me knows what I should and shouldn't be doing but the head wants me to fill it with chemicals that taste good for a few seconds then wants to shame me for it. Do you attend SW meetings and do you find them useful?

Deepest darkest Peru

I’ve lost two stone since Christmas when I rejoined SW and four stone since my diabetes type 2 diagnosis at the end of 2018.

I’m exercising more just by doing the school run alone which is 15,000 steps a day

Ironically my diabetes is the worst it has been

Well done on the weight loss. In what way has the diabetes worsened, I know very little about the condition.

My HbA1c levels (blood glucose) are at the highest they’ve been since diagnosis

Currently at over 80 and they’d jumped from 52.

So My diabetic nurse added a third different type of medication for diabetes to the ones I already take

I have my next review on Monday and if levels haven’t fell it looks like I’ll go onto insulin

I'm losing weight slowly and steadily, started the gym 3 times a week and swimming. Now do Boxercise and Zumba. Cut right down on carbs, my diet wasn't rubbish but less snacks.

Noticed the weight coming off, feeling fitter in general.

Sounds like you know what you're doing and it's working for you. Glad your feeling the benefits of your hard work and dedication.

I want to be a little lighter before I join the gym and try not to get distracted. Kinda hard when you have a "grey sweats" fetish ;-p

When it’s well controlled everything runs as normal. I’m careful with what I eat, make sure I exercise and drink plenty of fluids

When it’s not going well the tiredness is overwhelming and I could fall asleep easily which is not great as I’m a full time carer for my son who has additional needs

When it’s not controlled

Was hard at the beginning, dont really bother me now.

My current vice is I make homemade fudge, I eat 2 pieces, the remaining pieces are passed to staff at work for tasting purposes.

Yoyoing can be so frustrating. All that hard work undone. I'm constantly doing it. The main thing this year is that I haven't gone beyond my yoyo range and added extras.

If I can just get back to 4-5 a week and continue with my walking, I should get to my goal.

Was about 135kg in sept 2020, remember it so well because it was my circumcision pre-op and it’s obviously a requirement. I was also out of work for about 5 months at that point because of covid making hiring seem to be a bit of a struggle. Once I got back into work I probably lost a bit but the bigger thing has been football 3 times a week and I’m now at a different job where I walk an average of 16km a shift, (according to the app on my phone, might be a bit out). Not sure what I’m at now but more clothes fit than before and I feel better and a lot more nimble. Just need to get a proper gym and diet routine for my body. Last week got a bit more motivation since I was in Magaluf, plan is to be better for Zante next year

I should be having my baby in the next week or 2. I've gained about 2.5 stone so I'll be working to lose that by the end of the year. Lots of nice walks with bubba to begin with and staying away from the Ben and Jerry's. Hopefully that works

You might find that you lose 6 stone and like what you see. I'm supposed to weigh 11 stone, I got down to it once and hated it. I look much better at 12-12 and a half stone. You've got this though

For me it's more about how I'm feeling. I'm 50 next year and so far I do not have medical issues. I'd like to lose the double chins, belly fat and inner thigh flab tbh

Ok. I've decided. Since I get to 3 stone loss then mess it up I'm just going to reset it all and today is my new starting weight! Not focusing on what I've lost before. Just concentrating on now!

Sounds like a good plan. I'm treading water until the school holidays as it was crazy last week with OFSTED and manic until we break up. I'm cutting back on the drink and whatnot but properly focusing when I have a lot more "me" time.

So, my baby turned up nearly 7 weeks early. I lost 11.5lbs from his birth. I have about 2stone to lose now. Probably won't put in a huge amount of effort over the next few weeks as I'm in the hospital every day but hopefully the weight will come off.

So, I'm still bang on 16 stone. Got a week and three days before the end of term and the summer holidays begin. I'm still working my club job 3 nights a week and my bus stop home is right opposite a "the gym group" gym. I'm going to join that as it's practically empty at 4am and even if I only use it for a bit to ease me I'm I still get to have a bloody good shower after work. Not setting any mad, crazy schedules. Just taking it slow.

At home the mirrors I use just show my face. I have a mirror I pull.out to check outfits before I go "out" out but usually its hidden away. I left it out over the weekend then sat sprawled on the sofa. I couldn't believe how hideous I looked. It kinda knocked my confidence but as I have the holidays comming up I'm just going to have to get over it. The photos I usually have on my profile make me look good. I don't use filters but I do tend to take ones that hide my chin fat.

Mirrors are dicks!!!!

My wardrobe has full length mirrors on them so I don't have much choice but to see myself. I've just gone a really weird shape that I don't like. It's like I'm right side heavy, if that makes sense

So after waiting for what seemed like forever for the summer holidays to start so I can hav some "focus on me" time, my little brother dies.

Inconsiderate to the end, right?

(Bad grief humour is getting me through)

Had a bit of and emotional one on Thursday then had to "Cork the feelings" for work and socials I'd committed to.

Trying not to drink too much and appetite has gone, just numb at the moment.

Me and my brother were very close, shared our dark humour and vices. Both of us had addictive personalities and enjoyed the things that are bad for us.

He was a functioning alcoholic who could no longer function and a depressive that self medicated with any pill, powder or potion at hand.

My heart is broken x

Anyway- sorry for posting this here but it's often our stresses, traumas and life fucking with us that fuels out bad habits.

Companies like Uber eats and Deliveroo have now made it so we can have anything brought round to us at anytime so there is no calling "time" on self indulgence anymore.

Hello everyone. Hope you're all doing well.

Just spent a month without any vices and learnt a lot about my "eating habit mistakes"

I went proper straight edge vegan (no meat, dairy sex, booze, caffeine, d7ug3) and felt incredible. Lost the weight I put on over summer. I'm sinning over half term, Halloween/samhain/day of the dead but restarting again straight after.

I have permanently given up enery drinks and pro plus as they were causing me to feel like crap. Got to work on cutting the wheat out next

Cut the monster out completely and you'll feel so much better. I was living on monster and pro plus to cope with my long working hours (7 days a week, 2 of those days are 24 hour days). It was the monster and pills that were making me tired. Had so much more energy once I binned them.

About 20 years ago after retraining and switching from manual to long hours at a desk I put on about 20kg. I tried all kinds of diets and nothing worked, the long hours & sedentary lifestyle just lead to stress, excess alcohol & bad food choices.

It took some major mower back problems, years of painkillers, nerve root blocks & physio, low libido & high blood pressure all caused by the weight , to finally make the switch to healthy diet & active and less dressed lifestyle & I’ve never looked back.

Often you need to hit the bottom to make the changes needed.

This is a great thread. We'll keep an eye on it

I (Steve) have always needed to lose weight but I've only had varied success now and again and I've always put weight back on after losing it. There's no mystery to that, I drink too much, I eat too much and I order takeaways too much.

We are both making an effort now, feeling fairly confident as we've moved to the middle of nowhere and options for booze and takeaways are limited.

Not going to use scales as I get obsessed by them

Near Abercynon

Still avoiding scales, but limiting booze, cutting out takeaways and just being a little bit careful around food choices seems to be paying off so far. Both had to change belt holes this week (in the good direction)

So my phone has told me that I have burned 1154 calories less last week than the week before.

Time to change that this week

Hey all!

Weight loss has slowed right down and currently hovering on the “almost” 3 stone weight loss.

I’ve upped my dog walking in a bid to get some extra steps in as not really a fan of the gym.

Slow but steady, onwards!

I was supposed to lose the excess weight this year for my 50th in January. The loss of my brother and the depression that followed put a spanner in the works there. But time to refocus.

Are you on track for your goal?

Welcome back.

No need for thanks. The post actually gave me a sense of purpose and motivation.

Im glad your journey is going well.

So I have packed my gym bag and set myself the goal of just going once this month with the hope that going once gives me the momentum to keep going.

Wish me luck.

I have a strange one when it comes to Myself and my weight

I have a couple pints every other day but I also enjoy walking alot (and i mean i can spend half my day doing it)

Plus my job involves me to do alot of walking too so I guess I yo-yo between 12 and 13 stone

My diet isn't healthy but it's not too unhealthy either but I think I'm happy and hopefully I'll do better if I switch to zero alcohol alternatives

It will happen when it is meant to. The cold was your bodies way of telling you that maybe you were doing too much.

"How's everyone's week going so far?"

Weeks be OK so far. Hit my "1 stone loss" today so all positive. Been quite chill with the dieting. Just not eating and drinking tonnes of sugar. Feel better health wise. Stating focused and not craving anything so all is good.
