He owns over 150 pairs of trainers, none of which I like.

he does have a couple of work shoes I do like… I chose them and bought them.

Nothing like a good pair of Boston or Oxford lace-ups… and always, ALWAYS in black. Always.

Oh well here we go. This thread has just sent my brain back to the night that I ticked a box for a chief inspectors wife who wanted me in hi viz jacket and wellies. Obviously I cleaned all the mud off them and sprayed them with tyre wall spray that's normally kept for the car. The next day when I wore them out on the site, one of the brickies asked to me, "New wellies Dave?" I told him, "No! Just the old ones freshened up because, I was wearing the bloody things in bed last night to please that chief inspectors wife whose face I've been keeping a smile on lately." So with that in mind there's a cheap alternative to designer footwear that pleases one or two of the ladies.

I really do like to see guys wearing shoes they have given some thought to.

I’m a big fan of Percy Stride shoes for their uniqueness but I like to see Loakes, Brogues and especially where the shoes have coloured suede inserts
