I've not been for over 10 yrs but I hated the portaloos with a passion!

We used to keep a bucket in the porch of our tent for the nighttime wee.....

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Young people don't have the same need to go in the middle of the night, so it's not so bad.

THose that do are probably so pissed that they won't NEED to make it back to their tent and will sleep where they fall - or are too pissed to make it to the portaloos and piss randomly against someone else's tents.

The minority that have IBS and therefore need to be organised probably have their tent-partners phone set to mututal "FInd my phone" and use GPS.

Follow the poo sucker vans, they clean them and that's the best time to have a number 2. Having a piss is easier for a guy.

Glastonbury didn't have the worst toilets, the worst I've seen are at Leeds

Maldon

Get there early and smear melted chocolate over and around the handle of a portaloo door. It’s then yours only for the weekend.

Get there early and erect a marquee around a portaloo.

Your tent now has a private toilet.

The toilets have improved massively over the last 20 years; there are some scary ones out there but generally not bad. The key is to get up early (7/8) and have a morning poo, as they get cleaned early in the morning (get your shower then too).

Trust me they were horrific in the 80’s and 90’s (Glasto was a family event)
