Who are your favourite Classical and Contemporary music composers?

For me in terms of classical- Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Bethooven, Claude Debussy to name a few.

Contemporary- Hans Zimmer, Ramin Djawadi, Ludovico Einaudi.

Classical I'm a Mozart fan boy. Contemporary, Einaudi yes, John Williams might not have the gravitas, but it always fits the film it was designed for.

I wanted to go and see Einaudi this year but couldn’t justify the price considering I’d likely have gone alone

Liszt, Bach, Fauré, Mussorgsky.

Philip Glass and John Murphy for contemporary who haven't been mentioned so far.

Vivaldi - love 4 seasons.

Chopin - Has some of the prettiest piano pieces.

Anything Baroque....

Mozart/Handle/Haydn.

Love Duet from Lakme - Delibes.

Costa Diva - Bellini.

Oh Mio Bambino Caro -Puccini.

I’m more into pieces of music rather than one composer.

Seeing it performed live by the Philharmonic Orchestra has always been a highlight.

I’ve seen Einaudi a couple of times and have tickets to see Agnes Obel in a few months - another pianist

I also love Olafur Arnalds, Poppy Ackroyd and Colm mac con iomaire

Also has vocals on it, but the first two albums by Agnes Obel are lush

Hard to pick a composer, some I like pretty much everything I've heard of theirs - Beethoven, Chopin, maybe Mozart. Others like Lizt, Rachmaninov and Shostakovich there are some pieces I absolutely love and others I really don't like, plus it depends on my mood.

Einaudi is OK, nice to relax to but not a huge fan. Karl Jenkins is more my style.

Really nice to see the amount of people on here who listen to classical. It sometimes feels like I'm in a very small minority as its pretty much all I listen to if alone.
