Anyone here there and have you ever matched with anyone? Is it all fakes? Been there 2 months and not one match.

Hopefully my profile isn’t that awful..!

Just interested really - seems odd to me - but perhaps it’s not.

By the way, I have nice fully clothed smilie photos that depict me engaging in pretty normal stuff - holidays, stuff with friends etc… as well as a friendly l, chatty profile outlining what I have to offer as well as what I’m looking for.

I prefer that women have to message first and then it’s clear there is attraction on their part at some level. Although, not as yet! Ha

I'm on Bumble. If I like the pictures, I'll read the profile.

Obviously on there women have to message first, so even if you get a match you're stuck unless they message.

Perhaps I’ll get a friend’s wife to look at the profile in case it is in some anti female!

Obviously we’re not for everyone but I would have expect one person to match with me in the course of 2 months! Haha

Probably you need to tweak your profile a bit. It's different than tinder so takes a while getting used to, I've joined a few weeks ago and I've gotten a few matches, but I'm also not using any of the paid features atm either.

Always faired much better on Bumble than on Tinder. I think Tinder is too Instagram for me, looks over substance. Bumble seems to hit the right spot.

Not been on either for a few years, but yeah, I always preferred Bumble, genuinely thought it cut out a much higher percentage of chancers and time wasters.

However, the first move thing, while great in principle, does come undone when women are forced to make the first message and you get a "Hi", which strangely is something that isn't really seen as making much effort when men send those here...

Bumble is one of the better apps for avoiding fakes, I find. If you're not getting any matches at all after 2 months I'd say there was a problem with your account, more than your profile (shadowban, glitch, etc). Perhaps try deleting it and starting over.

The odd like, not as many as on Tinder.

A half dozen or so matches and maybe two or three bother messaging.

"Sounds like a you problem op. What's in the bio?"

I think so.

The bio - not much space hence the semi-colons.

“Adventurous; Driven; Caring; Emotionally available (& stable!); Sense of humour; One daughter (21); Family first; house; car; own teeth and a well-used passport.

Looking for something worthwhile,

meaningful and lasting.

Let’s lift each other up.”

I’m reluctant to change it too much as it’s a string representation of who I am and what I want. Why mould it to what others want if it’s not you?!

Perhaps the pictures then, as I think you mentioned you don’t read the bio if you don’t like the pictures (although it’s a bit of a generalisation across the rest of the female population perhaps).

Yes they’re softer and involve no mirror selfies or gym pictures.

I’m not saying I’m entitled to interest but it does seem odd after 2 months. I’ve got the verification thingy as well. Perhaps there’s just a dearth of available women in my area!

I'd expect Bristol to have a reasonable population density, way way better than over here in East Anglia anyway.

Try rotating your pics a bit, freshen it up

Update:

I deleted the profile and re did it, same wording and pictures. In 1 hour I have 21 likes, although no matches as yet (I’m not a prolific swiper).

Perhaps there was a glitch before or perhaps this happens re a new profile.

Anyway just for those interested in using the app.

Thanks for all the replies.

Same ..I like the idea of bumble over other apps, but essentially have little faith that people are really looking for more than a short term attention fix

Kinda demoralises me from trying , but I’m ever hopeful of the right woman for me & me being right for someone being out there

Yeah not on tinder - too many fakes and not the place to seek out meaningful and lasting connections.

Bumble showing 50+ likes now (although can’t see them), so definitely something up with the app before.
