It's yoga day today. Anyone else done their sun salutations?

What's your favourite yoga pose? Mine is probably pigeon at the minute.

This is appropriate, I’ve just started to try yoga. What a great time to have picked this up.

I don’t have a favourite yet, just getting into it and don’t know all the names.

But the lotus, I can do it and sustain that one without falling backwards. So, I’ll use that as my benchmark.

I’ve just looked that up. I could barely make it to my knees, let alone achieve that position.

I prefer to do movement meditation as holding certain poses will trigger pesky joints

Think yoga in dance

Sometimes I practise kundalini yoga which is lots of movement combined with breathing.

Will be attempting downward dog later. Far too stiff to do any yoga pose effectively.

Yeah, there's a lot of chanting in kundalini. I watched a video on YouTube about the chants once and how it affects the nervous system. It was quite interesting. Also, some of it is more singing than changing which has lots of benefits.

Warrior 2 is probably my favourite in terms of benefits for me - tight hips etc. I need to be well loosened up first though to be able to hold it properly.
