Our common bonds are irrefutable... Hubby and I met a lifetime of friends, family brothers and sisters from the UK. Those bonds are forever. Thanks

There is a indescribable spirit in the bonds that are formed with service people

Shows how incredibly important the needs of man are. Sense of purpose, community, security etc... Lots we can learn from that happiness and satisfaction.

On the money you can go years without seeing them and still pick up where you left off

North Norfolk area

Do a regular reunion with guys I served with.

A special one end of last month, 40th anniversary of a particular action. A few have gone "AWOL" by now, was good but poignant. We roughed it for a couple of days, sank a few, shed a few.

God, I miss it sometimes, miss them all the time!

Yes certainly a close bond best friends ever unfortunately more and more are leaving and MH are going down hill

But also found that the do as they say rather than be untrustworthy or dishonest like others can be

"I miss it"

I’m not sure I do. All that get back off leave for 1000. Great, well done, you’re all here. Now stand down till 1300. On the bus. Off the bus etc.

But I do look back at it very fondly.

Agree….I’m still in and that nonsense is worse than ever now and some of the people that have joined up….not what they once were….a generation of entitled and pampered arseholes!!

I’m just too much of a pussy to leave right now so I’m going to have to put up with it haha!!

If you never served you missed out on a bond like no other with your peers.

Respect to all who have and are doing so now.

I am a social weirdo. I do find social interactions with strangers difficult and hard work (although I mask fairly well and handle myself OK). However when you meet someone who's also ex forces or still in there tends to be an instant bond. I feel instantly more comfortable and myself around them. I don't have to hold my tongue or hide away my dark sense of humour. Even though technically the 3 services speak different languages we understand each other clearly. It's like home when you meet someone one the same level and share that experience. As a social mong it feels so good to me myself without anxiety with other people who also know.

Definitely and everyone so far is included

That’s the beauty the majority of the armed forces everyone is treated exactly the same man, women tall or short same uniform same job needs doing probably because there is so much interoperability

So to work with others well in other settings is no different

If you don’t believe me Becs let’s go on a social !

It’s the simplest of things that I just can’t forget. Yep, make me yearn and cry too.

I spent 5 days with mine and my husbands military family at Seneca lakes. It was fantastic. Some of us haven't seen each other in years yet when we get together it's like it was just yesterday. Good times.

Exactly how I am. Difficult to describe to those who haven't served. But an instant camaraderie with those who have, and are, serving
