When you go to the UK seaside, what are your must do/favourite things to do there?

My kids have a bloody tick list that we have to do for the holiday to have been a proper visit!

Herts & London

If it's sunny - Fish & chips followed by an ice cream. And maybe a nap in the sun.

If it's pissing down - Fish & chips followed by an ice cream. And maybe a nap on the sofa.

Christ, I know how to live

The sea is about 150m from our front door.

And some lovely beaches about 5mins drive.

Never regret leaving London 20 years ago

I stay near the sea, less than a mile from some lovely beaches. I get to watch people who look as if they’ve never saw a beach before going mental in the sun

Pretty much this but adding avoid the gluttonous thieving seagulls from nabbing your chips.

South Wales

In the UK I just paddle about in the sea for a bit and then stand like a dick watching my toes sink into the wet sand.

Then, when I’ve exhausted that. I like to climb over low danger rocks, just to feel like a kid, and jump over rock pools.

Then it’s chips on a bench people watching.

Then to the arcades and see if they have Tekken or that basketball hoop/throw game and me and the kids take turns to see who gets the highest score.

Then we go in search of candyfloss or donuts.

Then home.

Rochester, Kent

Chips with enough vinegar that it’s dripping from the bottom of the cone, lashings of salt, and a great snog… then a good fingering once the sun goes down.

I’m in Sussex at the moment, about 500 meters from the sea.

I sometimes walk my dog on the beach when the tide is out but only when it’s fairly empty.

I avoid it at weekends as it’s too crowded.

I miss living by the sea , we used to go exploring the rock pools and building sandcastles, then have fish and chips followed by hot sugary doughnuts and ice cream and watch the sun go down x
