Whitby second homes

The residents of Whitby have voted overwhelmingly to ban the sale of new builds for holiday lets and second homes for wealthy southerners.

Do you think this is the way forward and should all local authorities adopt this strategy? Do you own a second home and if so how do you feel about this?

"Wealthy Southerners"? Interesting. They're the ones with all the wealth, are they?

Wasn't it by you? There was one last week, I think.

Not by me, no. I think i would have remembered (at least i hope so).

While i'm here, in answer to your earlier question i was just quoting the article. However, in 2020 over a third of all second homes sold that year were bought by Londoners alone.

I'm not surprised as London is a huge area.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

If the first vote wasn't binding, why have they bothered with a second one?
