I do like the Victorian/steampunk look and would quite like to go to Whitby & enjoy the scene.

However, as a Tgirl I'm really not sure how i would be recieved by both visitors & locals.

Have any other Tgirls gone out dressed there?

If I was in charge, you'd be well received.

Well after having the goth festival there for years..locals and visitors have pretty much seen it all..so you'd probably go pretty much unoticed...

I haven't been to any of the WGW's for maybe 10 or 12 years now but I regularly used to work at them before then and there were always Tgirls about back then.

You will have NO problem whatsoever. For those 2 weekends its the 'normies' that look out of place!

You'll be fine. There's always been a fair few trans in my extended goth circle who go to it.

It's always seemed pretty inclusive to me (I don't have as much experience of it as others, but I do love Whitby)

As far as locals go though, if you've seen 400 Dracula's queueing for a bacon sarnie, you're probably quite easy-going.

I go to Whitby to photograph the Steampunk & Goth weekends, TV & Trans are always there & from what I've seen never any judgement, a couple of times ive seen shocked reactions from someone when they've realised & then gone "no way, she's far too good looking to be a man"

Get yourself along

I know its too late for this one but so you know for future you'll be absolutely more than welcome at any steampunk event.

I trade at stalls at lots of these events and its such an inclusive enviroment. I did the event this weekend and as usual saw plenty or trans/tvs wandering around enjoying the atmosphere.

The whole steampunk genre has fantastic outfits and some of the best and glamourous i have seen have been trans/tv members.

If youve any doubt just look on fb for pictures of previous events and youll see many pictures which should put you at ease over your concerns

Go for it!

We always go to the July steampunk weekend and frequently the February one and there are ALWAYS t-girls there - fitting in while standing out, just like the rest of us.

You will be welcomed like anyone else. But don't try and turn these weekends into something they weren't originally set up for. Ask the some of the locals about tv's, you will get a different view.

There are lots of cross dressers go and walk around freely.

I have not been .. yet… but I have been asked by loads of steampunk enthusiasts and goths to go… I have been assured I would be well received.

Rachael and I certainly have it on our bucket list

It’s definitely worth going, we always see loads of TV/TS people there and nobody bats an eyelid. People dress so fantastically that you’d find it very difficult to look or feel out of place even if you were 10 feet tall with two heads.

Go, enjoy, and marvel at the array of looks and costumes on show!

You will be welcomed with open arms, there are no one size fits all when it comes to the goth weekend.

Trust me you will love it and be so glad you went.

Hope you don't mind me saying this but you won't be the only Tgirl there x
