Just been having discussions about stupid things and this subject started. Do you believe in a soul or afterlife? If yes, tell us your experience.

When my Grandfather passed away. I felt his presence a few moments after he passed, I live two roads away from my grandparent's house. Family members that were there when he passed said what time it was. That's the time I felt something odd like a cold shiver a familiar feeling of my grandfather touching my shoulder as he did on many occasions. I mentioned this to my nan and she said he was saying goodbye.

Yes; my beloved hamster often visits me in my dreams and in the form of little robins. I love and miss her; and it’s nice knowing she’s still here.

I’d like to think so. When my youngest was born the midwife handed him to me and said “he looks as if he’s been here before”.

I think people can believe what they want, so long as it hurts no-one.

I genuinely have no idea if there's an after life. I wouldn't be arrogant enough to claim I knew one way or the otner.

Soul is a different matter in my opinion. I think it's 'self'.

I don’t believe there is an afterlife but I find it interesting that we were once all star dust and we will all, eventually, become star dust again. And the cycle will repeat many, many times over the life of the universe. That’s kind of cool.

I like to think there is something, having lost both parents I love to think that their essence is still around.

My Mum knew she didn't have long, she told me that my Dad had visited her telling her that 'everything is ready, everyone is waiting' she said 'I won't be here in a week' literally a week later her life support was turned off after going into hospital a few days prior. I felt her go 24 hours earlier, walked in through the door after visiting and felt a light go out somewhere inside me. I just cried, knew she had gone

I guess we will find out for sure one day....

You just started saying ‘talking about stupid things’

So yes. I do believe in the after life and a soul. Tell you my experiences? No I won’t. I’m not that stupid.

It's a tough one to answer because we have no way of knowing. I think it's too brazen to say one way or another

Do you believe in things that you can't see with the naked eye? What about bacteria etc. People didn't know about it before the microscope was invented. Light spectrums that you can't see until it refracts. Try pressing your car key fob and look at it through your phone camera. Just cos you can't see something doesn't mean it's not there.

I'd like to think so.

I wonder what happens to our consciousness when we die. I hope it continues somehow so I can be with the loved ones I have lost.

Do I believe in the After Life.

I've read a few books on Reincarnation, Near Death Experiences, Out of Body experiences. I've also had experiences with mediums which has led to me to believe that life and love is eternal. Wishful thinking?

The Sci-Fi movie Contact was very thought provoking - science versus religion. Just because we can't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist?

The scene in which Dr Ellie Arroway challenges Palmer Joss to prove the existence of God.

Palmer Joss then asks, did you love your father? Ellie Arroway : What? Palmer Joss : Your dad. Dr Ellie Arroway says of course I loved my father, Palmer Joss says, prove it

How can anyone prove their love for someone? A life time of experiences and love for a person cannot be weighed in a laboratory.

I've taken the leap of faith.

Does the afterlife end? If so what's after that? Was there a 'beforelife'?

Reincarnation you think ?

We all have lived previously

And we all will live again

We just don't no it

We are not meant to know it.

But some accidently experience Reincarnation.

No one can explain

Never fear of dying but cherish every moment your experiencing now

Every life you receive will be and is different.

"Does the afterlife end? If so what's after that? Was there a 'beforelife'?"

When you sleep do you ever wake up and think that 9 hours went quick?

When you die , you basically sleep

But time does not exist

You don't no it but your living again .

When you sleep you go into an un-conscious state as the body's way of regeneration and repair on a cellular level.

When you die, your cells atrophy and die. They aren't the same state and time doesn't change. Not sure what you even mean.

When I was a small child I liked nothing more than running ants over with my trike.

Now when I get bouts of eczema I wonder if it's the little bastards getting their own back.

Our personality is formed by our physical brain. What happens to it, determines our potential and perceived reality. The final reality appears that when that brain is no more, that we are gone.

So no, I don't believe that there's a soul or spirit. We need a brain to be ourselves.

No, I believe when you die it's like the plugs been pulled. The electric switches off and you cease to live.
