If you were given the option to become immortal, would you take it?

Give your reasons for and against...

What would there be to do after the sun has burned out its fuel and all other life on Earth has gone?

No. I think we treasure things based on their scarcity. I'd never want to take life for granted.

Yes.

Easy answer.

I want to see, watch and be involved in all the technological miracles that will come to pass.

Look back at the last 50 years and what has happened.

I want to see the next 50 and the 50 after that etc.

And I have so much to do and such little time

Hmm, Do I get to pick what age my body is/seems, or do I just become more and more decrepit?

No, as someone who is loosing someone incredibly dear it would be too hard to loose those you love and carry on forever without them.

Facing my own mortality and even 5 years seems like a life time away and too daunting right now.

Uhhm. Nope. Its the age and body at which you choose immortality. Better crack on!

Nope.

We all live too long as it is and the planet is struggling to cope.

I’d love to be immortal, but in a time when humanity is a space faring race.

I will take it for sure. I do know of philosophies that say immortality is a punishment. But I love life. There are so many curious things which happen around us, which we don't have explanations for. I would love to be immortal at least to find answers to these questions.
