I hate them.

Be it shorts, skirts, dresses, I just can't wear them.

Summer dresses don't suit me.

I'd never wear anything that shows more than my ankle so shorts are out.

I wish I was someone that could wear this stuff but my summer time outfits consist of t-shirts and cropped trousers.

Just another reason I hate this weather

You are tall with a gorgeous figure. I am struggling to see how a nice floaty summer dress wouldn't suit you. Or anything else for that matter.

But I appreciate what you're saying. I believe it comes from within. You just have to keep trying until you feel comfortable in your style.

I hate showing my legs too but each year I seem to care a little less and get a bit braver. I do prefer a maxi dress even if they do make me look a bit frumpy. I can’t carry off the dress and trainer look

I feel your pain! I’m the wrong shape for dresses, I don’t suit baggy clothes and my legs are always too pale for shorts! I wouldn’t dare try to fake tan either

I've got some really nice wrap dresses that are ankle length. They fit well because you can tie the wrap as loosely as you like and they cover your legs. Although I can't see anything wrong with cropped trousers and a tee shirt

There is nothing wrong with cropped trousers and a t-shirt. Nothing at all.

You wear what works for you, and if you want to try something else, give it a go, but don't put pressure on yourself and don't let anyone else pressure you.

I imagine those wide leg, floaty trousers would look lovely on you (they may or may not be palazzo or something), and if you get cotton ones they're really good for staying cool.

In my past life where I was working outside all day in the summer I wore cropped jeans or trousers and a vest every day. And the same shoes all the time. It took over a year after I stopped for the tan lines on my calves and shoulders to fade (random musing there)
