Never been to either butwant to know what one is the best. I now Fairlight is a trek but is it worth it?

We use to use the beach at Leysdown, very friendly. Beach is ok. Not sure what it is like nowadays.

The roadside parking at Leysdown has been dug up, on a nice day be prepared for a bit of a walk. There’s a small nature reserve car park (10ish cars?) at the very end of the road, but you might end up turning around and driving a long way back for a space.

We had a chalet there and had wonderful family holidays.

The beach was a shell beach and very painful to walk or sit on though.

Yeah remember it well, I Guess if I’m honest I probably enjoyed it when I was younger, but as I became a teen I hated it lol

We went to Leysdown a week ago on a lovely day, only 1 man there and then a dressed Asian make turned up, sneaked up on me whilst my partner walked along the beach, I'm sure he took a photo, then he left quickly.

Prior to then digging up the parking it would have been so busy.

We might give it one more try.

Interesting it’s quiet on a lovely day… maybe I’ll try it again myself. I’ve been avoiding nice weather days there because of the parking.

I really enjoyed Fairlight it’s a long but nice walk, find yourself a nice big flat rock and bask in the sunshine. Fairly busy when I went on a Friday and a good mix of age ranges. Great spot for a little R&R … still yet to try leysdown/shell ness … maybe tomorrow depending on the weather

Battle

Having tried both, my preference is for Fairlight. As previously mentioned the climb back up is a killer, but it's still worth it. Plenty of space for chilling and chatting, butbif that's not your thing then you can totally escape and just enjoy the peace.

Parking at the top of the hill is reasonable. Just worth mentioning that the tide comes right in, so keep an eye out for it. You can climb off the beach into a Warren of paths through the woods to escape the tide, or to find somewhere for some discrete play.

As I said it's just beautiful, but what a climb!
