I read a press release from the RMT. Apparently the strikes aren't about drivers pay, that's the tory press misrepresentating as usual. Iirc they're about safety issues and a pay rise for cleaners and other auxiliary staff?

What isn't justified is the way the government and train companies are trying to deflect any responsibility for the situation and blaming the staff for pitting themselves against the customers of said train companies.

Customers who are sick to the back teeth paying extortionate fare's for piss poor service.

And the staff are the one's who get all the stick.

Threating to bring in agency staff is another P&O situation something that once again the government will allow the rich train company owners to get away with.

I’m afraid this strike has absolutely nothing to do with train drivers at all, two separate unions for starters

And the RMT predominantly are striking for a change to working conditions/hours/shifts and to retain their jobs from redundancies affecting a lot of important staff on the platforms, in maintenance and ticket offices then finally they want a fair pay increase, out of 6yrs, to compete with current RPI/cost of living

It is what it is and the big wigs at the top do not care hence the Gov will take the mick (shrug)

Anyway it is what it is and will be truly what it will be
