Do you find lots of messages overwhelming?

I sometimes gets a fair amount of messages like 10-15 in a day and it just gets like- eeek I can’t face it all right now.

And then it piles up. And piles up.

On WhatsApp it’s way worse I have so many unread chats because when I’m talking to one person like 4/5 others message you and it’s impossible to keep up. Plus group chats on top.

How do you manage?

- this is an anxiety thing so please don’t come in here on a hype.

Mine aren’t ridiculous. But I like talking so there’s the fact I want to talk that helps. If I thought I was ignoring someone or missed a message because I have too many for how busy I am to reply, I think that could bother me.

I talk to her very few people so I have that on my side.

Don’t sweat it op, if people are really your friend, they’ll understand if you take time to reply, we’re all busy with work and other stuff.

Sometimes I can’t reply as quick as I’d like as I flit in and out of Fab and I like to take time to properly reply to messages, so I expect some people think I’m ghosting them, when I’m not, I’m simply waiting until I have proper time to reply properly, so often I’ll have 8 or 9 messages pending reply (I’m not as popular as you, OP!)

By the way this isn’t a brag- most of the messages on here are from men asking about my bbc

I have over 30 unread here and it's making me uncomfortable. My email is beyond a joke . I don't get a lot of WhatsApp's or texts as that's just for family and close friends.

211 unread txts right now. It gets to a point where you just accept you’ll be ignoring a lot of people

I hate it. Can’t change though. Dog brain

Surely they are easy to deal with? Delete button takes a second.

Yes, I do find too many messages overwhelming, particularly when I can't get to them straight away. I had to leave group chat on Whatsapp, the only one I had, because by the time I'd get to it, there'd be like 100 unread messages, most just exchanges between two people on the chat, a stay-at-home Mum and a guy who was unemployed at that time. I guess they had way too much time on their hands.

My Fab inbox- I try to keep it clear, but there are days when the amount of messages is too much.

True but I’m not checking my inbox all the time and when it piles up I say oh I’ll go through them properly later. Then don’t. Then they pile up and the people you actually want to talk to get lost.

Definitely! I'm so used to only having 1 or 2 messages at a time so any more than that then it literally takes me hours to reply. Then there's more pressure to make it a fucking good message!

I am terrible at keeping on top of my messages in any personal repository, be it here or personal email/WhatsApp etc. I am incredibly good at doing it for work though! I need to employ the same level of commitment in my personal life but you know, I want to write honestly and meaningfully to people and I overthink it massively and then procrastinate!

I average one message a month on here so it's not difficult to keep up.

I'm not in any fab related chatgroups so don't need to worry about those either.

I'm in a couple of hiking WhatsApp groups but those only account for 2 or 3 messages a week at most.

I find it crazy how people message when a pic gets to page 1 of hot pics. Literally everyone is doing the same thing so I don't get how they hope that theirs is the message that will be read
