Anyone get excited when they get an email like this, only to find it’s a fiver or something like that?

Glimmer of hope vanishes in seconds

£4.50 this week. That’ll pay for a litre of fuel

I check on the app the day after the draw. My email gets so much marketing stuff I miss important emails.

A meet with you would be better than a large lottery win

Don't knock it. The couple who had the big win on euro millions won it on a lucky dip.

I had several like that. I would sign into the app and see the balance was up by £2:50. One day I signed in and there was no change.

I was just getting into full 'write a snottagramme to Camelot' mode when I saw there was a message on the app. I opened it and it said I had won £2,568 and where would I like them to put it. So not too bad.

I can honestly say I've never bought a lottery ticket! Was in a work syndicate way back when it first started x

I have always wondered. Is the same email notification sent out if you win a lucky dip or up to say the jackpot . ?

Yep… most disappointing one I’ve had was they said I got 4 numbers and both star numbers on the eurosmillions 1 week… there was me thinking “ooooh holiday!!!!”

Amount won…. 130 pounds!!!

Never won a jackpot but I got the same computer generated message for tiny wins and an over £2.5k win. So maybe a £20M message says the same??

I was working on an Easter weekend once when I got a “news about your ticket” email, my company firewall didn’t allow access to the lottery page and this was pre-internet on mobile phones. I had to call my wife to get her to check. I had won a tenner… for a moment the hope was there that I could walk out and tell my boss where to stick his bank holiday cover.
