Small Positive Changes

Jump to newest

So having found I stay on my phone way too late into the night, I've bought an alarm clock in the hope that I can charge my phone in another room and use my alarm clock on my bedside table so I can try to sleep at a reasonable hour. But it's something I've ummmm'd and ahhhhh'd over for ages but just put it off.

Are there any small positive changes you've recently made or are thinking of making and if you haven't yet, what's stopping you?

Manchester (he/him)

I’m trying to stop eating after a certain time, it’s hard with my job though.

I guess working odd hours can make it tough to keep good habits, is it something you've already tried once?

here & there

I had the same problems, but handily I’ve set up the bedtime routine feature on my iPhone which reminds me to have at least 45mins of screen free time before bed. Feel miles better for making a such a little change.

Ahhh nice, do you ever feel tempted to still use your phone though? I know I need to get to bed, but YouTube is a cruel mistress

Starting it means you've already overcome the first hurdle. I personally find once I have the satisfaction of doing it once, it becomes easier to maintain after that

I’ve done it for years, it’s the job change that’s thrown everything up in the air

I do 100 crunches every morning. Not much but I have found its made a difference. Am working up to doubling that once I get over the damn COVID.

I can empathise, a new job really can disrupt a routine as your entire focus shifts. I hope you manage to figure out a way around it to get what you need

I think that's a big one for many people. Only advice I can give is to start with small changes as opposed to doing a complete 180. Good luck!

That's definitely a huge step to take and one I'm sure you've thought through a lot before committing. I hope it goes well!

100 is insane as it is! Keep going, Covid sucks but I'm sure you'll be able to progress in the way you want as you have a good foundation

My small change of late has been to cut back on hours I'm doing at work, and I have benefitted greatly for it

Good on you! I think we underestimate just how important work/life balance is. Glad you're feeling the benefit of it
