I dont mean the heart flutters when you love someone, I mean the ones that make you think your heart may stop or come out of your chest.

I get them at varying times, do you get them? Is it made better if you remove caffeine for a bit?

It's difficult to say. So many things can cause them such as anxiety, stress, caffeine or medication. Best thing to do is to see a gp. They'll want to at least listen to your heart and maybe an ECG too. Then when it's all good, they can think of ways to deal with it.

Mine are usually anxiety driven. If it's from coffee then try adding cocoa to it, it helps to balance out the palpitations

Hold your nose, puff out your cheeks and blow like you're trying to make your ears pop, that stops them.

If they become regular, consult with your doctor they may give you beta blockers

I got them over a year ago, switched to decaf and don't eat too much chocolate. So ditching caffeine has helped me.

You should consult your GP and they will send you for an ECG. I had these palpitations a few years back where my heart was literally missing a beat every few beats. Wasn't painful but still scary. Was diagnosed with an Ectopic heartbeat. Advised to cut down on caffeine or cut it out altogether.

Switched to decaf coffee and haven't had them since. Another benefit of cutting down on caffeine is that I don't get a headache when laughing, which I used to especially at the back.

I did get headaches for a few days though as I was withdrawing from it but they wernt too bad.

Cutting down on caffeine worked for me but you really should seek proper medical advice.
