Spanish. I already speak English (The most common language worldwide) and although I may travel to Asia (Mandarin 2nd and Hindi 3rd) I’m more likely to travel to a Spanish speaking countries regularly so it would be helpful.

I have attempted to learn Latin, Greek, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and French. I'm not anywhere near fluent in any of them but I speak French much better than the others.

If I could effortlessly speak another language it would be Japanese

I can communicate somewhat effectively in French, but I wish I were fluent. And I started studying Japanese in 2017 but left it. Time to pick it up again methinks.

That is a problem when trying to learn Dutch for sure. Also it's not a very sexy language, actually quite the opposite. Once I'd learned how to ask for a few beers and some food and the major swear words I sort of gave up

"Vorrei parlare italiano meglio di quanto non faccia al momento....

per me dipende molto da chi sta parlando

I can get by in French, Italian, Spanish, German and Dutch with some refresher brushing up.

Understand a little Latin based on medical and legal education I’ve had in the past

I’d like to learn Russian as the country fascinates me, and also I’d like to relearn Scots Gaelic which I had a little of as a child but has been lost due to lack of practice

There are plenty of translations available online, personally I like Chaucer. But check the assessments of the translations, as always online some are better quality/accuracy than others
