panasonic hx series are ok

One button to take pics and one for HD vid

I have the underwater one.... Bombproof

Record clips directly for YouTube etc and ok for filth...... As in you can hook up the cam to a hotel TV and watch yourselves .... Erm

Or upload to sites that allow video lol

BUT if you want to watch yourselves on TV AND record the action at the same time you need to spend much more dosh

We are upgrading to a Cannon 700D for this purpose

Hth

Sony do some good HD video camera's that shoot in AVCHD 1080p, 720p or standard 480p they start at about £199 or even cheaper in sales, they take SD cards that will fit into most laptops or towers for easy editing.

I take 3 of these camera's on shoots as they do the job for what I need as they are cheap and cheerful but deliver high quality film.

Download "Freemake" it a free prog that will convert any footage you film, try to get a video camera that shoots 25 a second rather than 30 a second.

Might want to carry out a malware scan with malwarebytes as freemake installs spyware as part of the installation

Ref op I have a Sony hx10v takes great video and cracking pics
