Why didn't they just turn the cabin pressurisation off?

Oxygen masks would have automatically dropped down for the crew and passengers and the snakes would have ended up cold, hypoxic and - very quickly - dead or incapacitated.

By the way, NEVER watch a science fiction film in my presence. And if you ever need concrete evidence that people are gullible just Google "Jurassic Park". Two of the suggested questions - based on the popularity of search phrases - are "Was Jurassic Park based on a true story?" and "Are dinosaurs real in Jurassic Park?"
