In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

My mother once told me that if you don't wear socks then the acid in your feet eats your shoes.

But she's feckin mental so I don't imagine that's right.

They stop your feet rubbing against the trainer and developing blisters while also absorbing sweat thus preventing the trainer from smelling. They are low profile so you can wear trainers with shorts/skirt without tall socks which look silly.

They work for me because I prefer not to have socks on show when wearing trainers.

What's your issue with them OP?

You wear them until your feet are ready for real socks, similar concept to a trainer bra.

They look better than normal socks if you're wearing shorts and trainers. Just look still with sandals though

Acidic feet that eat your shoes? Is your mum a mutant?

When I was a lot younger, I would wear my Adidas sambas with no socks. I thought i looked cool. Fast forward 30 years, and although I still love my sambas, I think I'd look a dick without some kind of sock

So it's a fashion statement? Might explain why I don't get it then.

I tried wearing a pair once it just felt weird my ankles felt a breeze.

Sandles/barefoot not a problem but the half socks? Didn't feel right..

They keep my toes warm without looking like a school child doing PE when I wear shorts.
