So yesterday I finally did something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I did a bit of wild swimming and took a dip in a plunge pool in the Lake District.

I’ve wanted to try this for a long time but been putting it off for a couple of reasons. Firstly because I was worried about how I look in a swimsuit and didn’t want other people seeing me. Secondly because I thought I might end up not being able to cope with the cold at all.

Well we went and there were other people there but honestly i don’t think anyone cared how I looked and it really wasn’t as cold as I thought. Once I got over the initial shock I really enjoyed it and found it exhilarating.

So my question is, what have you done recently that has pushed you out of your comfort zone and how did that make you feel or is there something you want to do but something is stopping you?

I've just spent a week feeling completely out of my comfort zone but I'm very proud of myself for grasping the opportunity to try new things, giving myself permission to get things completely wrong and to look an absolute tit even in front of my manager and senior leadership.

It was exhausting and draining but I honestly feel a new woman for the experience. Best week of my life so far.

It’s a horrible feeling at the time but great when you can feel good for it afterwards. I hope you’re still smiling
