Rum

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I really enjoy rum. Mostly either spiced, black, or rum liqueur, but I've been trying a lot of flavoured ones recently.

Favourites are:

Rosemullion

Nelson

Crusty Juggler

Anyone else have any recommendations?

(Any talk of mixers will be considered a heretical tangent... )

Yes. The three I mentioned.

Kraken is probably easier to get than Crusty Juggler, and isn't far behind in quality. Nelson is a bit niche and quite expensive to just try. Rosemullion will sell you some miniatures, so it's not a big expense.

Chairman’s spiced rum. It’s a little known rum from St Lucia but you can buy it in Waitrose

Happy days.

I'm partial to dark 'Navy' type rums which I sip neat. Woods is excellent but overproof with a mule's kick. Best of all is Gosling's Black Seal. Hard to get hold of, but Waitrose stock it sometimes.

Mount Gay Sugarcane Brandy was a personal favourite but they stopped making it about 10 years ago.

Appleton's 8 year old reserve isn't bad and can be found in some supermarkets.

couple, us we him her.

Meh,rums fine for fancy guy's who gel their hair and wear Bermuda shorts and flip flops.

Real drink is neat whisky a splash of cold water or small block of ice.

Sat alone in a quiet pub staring blankly into nothing out of the window on a wet Wednesday afternoon.

While I was living in Spain we used to drink a lemon honey rum , I’ve not been able to find it since coming back ,

It was so sweet you could just drink it from the bottle , pirate style . Argghh
