Continual forum posts throughout the early hours makes me ask does anyone ever sleep on here ? How many hours sleep does one need to function properly ? I need a good 7 hours !!

On the dreaded night shift

I function on 4-5 hours sleep while doing these shifts.

When not on nights I usually sleep for about 6 or 7 hours.

As long as I get 4 hours I'm pretty functional.

Tonight I've had precisely zero minutes of sleep, which means I'll be dead on my feet all day. Not great, as I have an extremely demanding day ahead of me.

I shall drag myself through the day with copious quantities of caffeine.

Sleep for me comes and goes, sometimes I can sleep all day if I had the chance then others I will only have 2-3 hours in a night and be awake all the next day.

I do not sleep well. I get maybe 3 or 4 broken hours a night. I go to bed between 10 and 11 but usually takes me hours to fall asleep and then I'm up pretty much every hour and wake up for the day at 6am.

I can't remember the last time I slept well. I'm always exhausted and a bit grumpy.

I'm always tempted to hit myself in the head with a brick before bed so I can get a decent sleep.

8 or 9 hours. Love my sleep. Straight through, never wake up until alarm goes off.

8 hours for me please. Though I've hit an age where I can fall asleep on the sofa while the kids watch shit TV I used to think my parents well passed it at that stage!
