When my dad died all the neighbours in our street bent over backwards to help me my mum and my sister

This was back in the day when neighbours new each other

I still send some of them Xmas cards 27 years after it happened

Nearly 11 years ago. I went to the dentist and they asked if I had to pay. I said I didn't know and got upset. I explained I'd sent off for the card that gives you the pregnancy exemption but the emergency scan I'd had a few days earlier couldn't confirm if I'd lost the pregnancy or not, and I needed another one in 2 weeks. The receptionist was absolute lovely and so kind. She even said she'd pray for me. I'm a staunch atheist but it meant so much.

I had miscarried, but kindness always helps

i was on my way to the shop a few months ago and had a siezure(i have epilepsy) and this random passer by helped me sit up, i had fallen face first, and called an ambulance, put his coat round me to keep me warm and waited until the ambulance got there, i didnt think to get his name, obviously my mind was a fog, but i wish i could repay him someway

Secret hideaway in the pennines

Last year was probably the worst year I have ever had, during the second lockdown, I lost my business and split with my long term partner, I had two cancer scares and a nervous breakdown, I became very much a recluse.

One day one of my friends turned up with a huge number of bags of shopping, totally unsolicited, and if I am honest totally needed.

I was in tears when they left

Probably the young girl who shouted at the men kicking my head in when I was 18. They intended to reduce me to a living vegetable.

However they ran and she got their car reg.

I recovered in hospital and 6 months later they all went up in front of the hanging judge.

On my daughters 13th birthday we was in a restaurant having a meal & celebrating. As we went to leave we was approached by a lady from Australia who was in the area as part of her uk travelling holiday, she wanted to give my daughter her lucky charm she had brought from home to keep her safe on her travels. It was a small koala bear that clipped onto things by its hands.

I told her we couldn't possibly accept such a personal gift that clearly meant so much to her. You could tell by the bear she had had it for years, it was a well loved item. She absolutely insisted, clipped it on to my daughters cardigan wished her a very happy birthday then walked away.

That was 5 years ago. To this day I still think about that lady, my daughter has the koala bear safely locked away in a memory box

I was in my late teens on my way to work, was raining real bad, waiting at bus stop for the first bus and a random woman stopped offering me a lift as road was closed due to trees being down, drove me to work even though was past where she was going. Has always been one those moments I won't forget.

I work in hospital, an elderly poorly gentleman gave a severely disabled woman a small flower that he carry’s around for special people. She struggled even to open her hand to take the flower, and she said it was the kindest thing that had ever happened to her.

Will never forget the moment and the impact it had on her.

I recently showed a lady round some rental properties as she wanted to relocate to this area having sold her cafe, catering and confectionery business in East England. None of the houses I had were suitable, but for showing her around the different locations, she made me the most fabulous birthday cake I've ever set eyes on. If only all my clients were like that dear lady!!!!

Yes I can, years ago I was walking home from a nightclub as bf and I had had a row. A taxi driver stopped, with lots of passengers and asked if I was ok? It was no problem to jump in with them. I politely declined and walked on. Was attacked by a random guy, but luckily the same taxi guy stopped on his way past and gave me a lift home.

I never got to properly said heartfelt thank yous, I was to shaken up.

A couple who I'd never met before gave me blankets and a portable mattress to lie on after I was hit by a car whilst cycling. They stayed with me for 3 hours whilst waiting for an ambulance...in November

Years ago, when I was an impoverished student, a group of three of my ex workmates visited me in my student digs over a long weekend. They arrived with “provisions for the weekend” which were bulk catering boxes of teabags, coffee, cans of stuff and beer. During the course of the weekend each of them, privately, slipped me cash to enable me to buy my rounds.

Thats cool, i was given a small charm of an angel with love written on its wings from an old woman getting off my bus, she just told me she needed to give it to me, i have it hanging off my car mirror, had it for about 4 yrs now.

I was cycling to a training session, it was dark and raining. Someone clipped as they drove past me knocking me off the bike, the driver never stopped. A couple saw me picking myself up from the road, they give me a lift home in the back of their car.

No idea who they were, but they wouldn't accept any cash from me for going out of their way.

When we were christening my daughter “Jane” the curate came to visit us at our house to talk about the ceremony.

A good time later and after he had actually christened my daughter, I bumped into the curate and after some I total small talk he said, “I always say a little prayer for “Jane” when I pass your house”.

I am not a religious person, but that act of kindness always stuck in my head.

I was working on what will eventually be the new Bond Street station when cross rail works first started. I’d been pulling cables underground in the middle of summer and was filthy, tired and sweating. I sat down outside of the site entrance to try and get some air and cool down.

An Italian man who was on holiday with his young family came over to me, said I looked like I needed a drink and simply handed me a can of .

It was such a simple gesture but he could see I was worn out and thirsty and just offered that little bit of humanity.

Thank you I don't do it for any other reason but to try to bring a smile. There's an elderly woman in the next village that I see regularly. She's always dressed really brightly (garish even) and has long bright pink hair. I think she looks amazing and fair play to her - so i told her once and she cried. Because, she's used to others pulling her look down!!!! Be kind people be kind

When I was a child and all through school I was painfully shy.I had very few friends was from a poor background and in early years was made to feel like a scruffy, worthless person, even called a tramp!

I just melted into the background with no confidence at all, scared of my own shadow.

Every day at school was a lonely experience of worthlessness

There was however a girl whom I had gone through the same schools to comprehensive

On rare occasions if we were passing in the rush between lessons,nothing was said but she would look at me and smile

Just that simple human act of acknowledging my existence still stays with me to this day and I still picture her face and smile

I often wonder what became of her, good things I hope.

On the brighter side I have gone on to have a great family and good career and was a good boss to my staff and I live a full and contented life(just no nookie)

In fact you can’t shut me up now lol
